Online calculations to help designers meet clearance requirements and strength and loading requirements include:
SpanCheck calculates clearances above ground at the lowest clearance or at a specified location in the span. It is especially useful for road crossings, railroad crossings, or spans over buildings to ensure that the conductors, wires, or cables meet the National Electrical Safety Code (NESC) clearance requirements.
SpanCheck will calculate the clearance at any point in the span from the conductor weight and tension (entered by the user and obtained from the cable sag chart), attachment heights, and ground-line information, or calculate the minimum clearance (worst case) for the entire span. SpanCheck is also useful for communication line and joint use line design.
